My watercolours are wet and loose and I like to take full advantage of the happy accidents that happen when painting wet into wet. I often paint from reality, portraits, still life or forest scenes, but I also like to paint purely from my imagination.

Oil, acrylics, gouache are all mediums that I am happy with and have developed many different styles in using them.

Original paintings can be seen in the Studio, Lawfords Yard, Pound Lane, Burley which I share with three other artists. We open every day except Monday from 11am until 4pm. Weekends only from November till March.

Visit the 'Studio' & meet the artists painting there daily.

I am a full time artist living in Burley in the New Forest, specialising in vividly coloured acrylics. Subjects include life in general, children, villagers, animals, pubs, schools, the doctors, the list is endless. My paintings are normally of a humorous nature.
I accept commissions for family events, wedding and other celebrations or commemorative occasions. I am part of the 'Studio' team, and along side my painting, I have my cards and portfolio work for sale.
In the past my work has gone all over the world and I am proud to say that, some of my work hangs in some interesting collection, i.e. Lord Baths collection at Longleat.

The beauty of nature, wildlife and a love of the country are reflected in Colins work. From misty river scenes to dramatic landscapes and paintings of gentle English scenery, his subjects are extremely varied.
He also enjoys still life subjects, facades and animal paintings. Several of his paintings have received awards.

Colin originally trained as a commercial illustrator, but his fine art techniques are self taught. He works principally in pastels and occasionally in oils.
